Ilana S. Berman is a second-year postdoctoral fellow at the Frank Porter Graham Child Development Institute. She earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Arkansas in 2020 after completing a clinical internship at Duke University Medical Center, and completed her B.A. in psychology from the University of Delaware in 2011. Ilana’s research focuses on trauma-related outcomes and evidence-based interventions for children and families affected by adversity and traumatic experiences, using a family-systems, intergenerational (e.g., parent-child), and lifespan perspective. Clinically, she is passionate about working with historically marginalized and traditionally underserved populations and aims to expand access to trauma-informed care, guided by program evaluation and dissemination/implementation research. Dr. Berman also enjoys mentoring, sharing research findings with the community, and providing community consultation.
